Back on December 23, 2003, the New York Islanders had a promo to fill the seats while they were struggling to get fans.

That promo stated that anyone who wore a Santa costume to the game was able to get in for free. They were expecting 250 Santas, but it turns out there was between 500 to 1,000 Santas in attendance.
During one of the intermissions, the Santas in attendance made their way to the ice, and things started to get interesting.
A few Santas removed their costume and revealed their Rangers gear, which isn't a great idea at an Islanders game.

As many Islanders fans would do, some began to attempt to rip off the Rangers gear from those people.
Here is what the New York Times had to say while covering the story shortly after:
"Soon, however, there was trouble. A few Santas ripped off their red jackets to reveal Rangers jerseys underneath. That was too much for the many Santas who were Islanders fans. It was as if the clock had turned back two years, and Theo Fleury, then a Ranger, was back on the Coliseum ice doing the chicken dance to mock the Islanders. Some of the Islanders Santas swarmed the Ranger Santas. A youngster in a Santa suit was seen pulling a Pavel Bure Rangers sweater off one subversive Santa."
This is something that would never happen in today's game. Owners will never offer free entry to games because they are so greedy for money, plus that many fans would never be able to just casually stroll across the ice unless they are part of an organization.
If this were to happen, it would definitely need to be at a game for the Battle of Alberta.
