As the Stanley Cup Playoffs continue, the Philadelphia Flyers are going through a time of change. While Daniel Briere is currently serving as the interim General Manager, rumors suggest that he will become the long-term GM, with a partner to serve as the President of Hockey Operations.

The Flyers' previous GM and President of Hockey Operations, Chuck Fletcher, has moved on, and there are several names being mentioned as potential partners for Briere. The big question is whether they are on the same page as Briere and head coach John Tortorella when it comes to the team's rebuild.
One potential candidate for the President of Hockey Operations role is..
Dave Poulin
Must read on FlyersInsider
Who has previously served as the Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Toronto Maple Leafs. In a recent article for the 'Toronto Star,' Poulin emphasized the importance of accepting the reality of the Flyers' situation and building from the new foundation.
Another candidate for the position is...
Emilie Castonguay
Currently an assistant GM for the Vancouver Canucks. She has fielded interest from other NHL teams, including the Flyers, but it seems likely that she will stay with the Canucks. Castonguay's ties to a pending discrimination case following the dismissal of Rachel Doerrie as the "analyst and assistant to the video coach" may also be a consideration for the Flyers.
Scott Mellanby
A senior advisor for the St. Louis Blues, has also interviewed for the role. Mellanby has ties to Philadelphia's hockey history, having played for the Flyers in the 1990s. However, his recent tenure with the Montreal Canadiens may be a cause for concern for some.
Ray Shero
Currently a senior advisor for the Minnesota Wild, is another potential candidate for the position. Shero has a long history in NHL management and has previously served as the Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he helped the team win the Stanley Cup in 2009.
Doug Wilson
Who recently resigned as the GM of the San Jose Sharks due to health reasons, is also being considered. Although Wilson has no previous ties to the Flyers, he has an impressive record in the NHL, including helping the Sharks reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 2016.
Finally...
Cammi Granato
the first female NHL scout and currently an assistant GM for the Canucks, is another intriguing name being mentioned. Her hiring would be groundbreaking and would make her one of the lightest resumes on this list. However, as with Castonguay, her ties to the Canucks may create a conflict of interest.
Overall, the Flyers are in the midst of an exciting time of change, and it will be interesting to see who they ultimately choose as their new President of Hockey Operations.
