A Look Back on the Return of Oskar Lindblom: 2 years ago today

Two years ago, on this very date and less than one year after Philadelphia Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, he made his return back to the Flyer's lineup for a game 6 matchup against the New York Islanders in the playoffs.

Lindblom had been diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma and was expected to miss the rest of that 2019-20 season at the time of the announcement.
Lindblom finished up his final rounds of chemo treatment in July, when he was allowed to ring a ceremonial bell the hospital, he was in had to celebrate the milestone.

After undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments, he's back in the Flyers' lineup to help try and force a Game 7. Such an incredible story for Oskar to come back.
Watching my Stepfather go through his battle of cancer to this very day has been something very difficult, life changing. That day that it was announced Oskar Lindblom would come back to play, it touched us all. Gives hope that things can get back to normal. #OskarStrong #LithgowStrong
Now With Oskar in San Jose and moved on from the Flyer's roster, he still will always have a special place in the fan's hearts and the NHL. A special return this upcoming season as he will play back in Philadelphia as part of a new team.
