Anthony DiMarco, NHL correspondent for the fourth period and the brotherly pod, recently mentioned Zayde Wisdom as a guy Flyers fans should really be looking forwards to having on their team.

"Zayde Wisdom has put up strong numbers w/ Kingston since returning from injury and comes off as a guy who is a fan favorite in the making. He has a really nice story and plays a style that will resonate with the fans. Very excited to see what the future holds for him."

Wisdom was a 2020 fourth rounder picked 94 overall and plays in the OHL with the Kingston Frontenacs. He has 41 points in 43 games this season.

According to the Inquirer he had a difficult childhood, overcame poverty and made it as an NHL draftee. In his short stint with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, he had 7 goals 11 assists in 28 games as an eighteen year-old.

Quoting from an interview Wisdom did with the Whig, his rough past was due to the neighbourhood he grew up in.

"Fifteen to 17 years ago, it was tough. A lot of gang violence," Wisdom said regarding the neighbourhood at Highway 401 and Weston Road in Toronto where he and his brother grew up. "It was tough. Back then there were a lot of gangs, it was one of the ‘hoods,' back then I always knew I wanted to do better for my family than what I had."

Sometimes, he and his family resorted to food banks where the lights or heaters wouldn't turn on.

Despite all this, Wisdom and his family perceived. I highly recommend reading up on this bright young fellow.

Could he be the next Wayne Simmonds, power forward type?
