Amid the Ukrainian-Russian war, it seems unlikely that Russian players in North America would willingly return home and risk involvement in the conflict. The exact number of players who have already gone back remains uncertain.

Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin plans to attend Danis Zaripov's farewell game in Russia on August 9th. Zaripov, a renowned figure in Russian hockey and the KHL, has achieved great success both domestically and internationally.
The question arises whether Ovechkin will face any difficulties when returning to the United States after his trip. Some NHL players have encountered issues with the Russian government, but Ovechkin's long-standing work in the US suggests he may not face problems.
Ovechkin's close ties to President Vladimir Putin are well-known, and his support for Russia and Putin has been evident. Only time will reveal the future of their friendship and whether Ovechkin can freely re-enter the United States after his visit.
