Announcement - Pittsburgh Penguins' season just turned into a nightmare
Pittsburgh Penguins fans are in for some bad news today, as two main roster players have been injured.
The team has placed forward Rickard Rakell and center Chad Ruhwedel on injured reserve.
During the past few seasons, Rakell has contributed greatly to the Penguins and has been on the wing of Evgeni Malkin.

They have also added winger Bryan Rust to their list of injured players, in addition to Rakell.
Consequently, Alex Nylander and Jansen Harkins have been called up from the WBS Penguins as depth forwards.
Also, they have recalled Johan Ludvig from his AHL conditioning stint.
In the absence of Rakell, Rust, and Ruhwedel, the team may struggle.

In 11 games in WBS this season, Nylander has five goals and eight points. After being claimed from Winnipeg, Harkins has experienced a resurgence in WBS, posting four goals and nine points in 11 games in the AHL.
At 9-8-0, the Penguins are just above the New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders and lousy Columbus Blue Jackets in the Metropolitan Division.
