Last night, Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog started his press conference with these eerie words.
"In 11 years, I've never sat and talked about referees in a press conference ever."

This outburst was out of character for the Avs captain and just summed up another awful officiating night in the NHL.
Landeskog's comments come after a 2-0 loss against the Carolina Hurricanes. With 5:50 left in the game, Hurricane player Nino Niederreiter hooks Nazem Kadri up the ice. A clear violation, but no call on the ice.

"We're arguing it's a hook. They're saying Naz is flopping, we're arguing it's still a hook whether he sold the call or not you can look at the video and the stick is in his waist and that's why he loses the puck. I think it's unfortunate. Sometimes it's time for players to step up and speak their truth."

Auston Matthews was also incensed towards the referees after he had his stick grabbed in OT by Jakob Chychrun resulting in a goal.
Ovi also got away with a blatant hook on Zach Hyman resulting in a Capitals tying goal moments later. All these calls happened within a span of two nights.
Do you think refs plan to all make bad calls on the same day?
