BREAKING: 36-Year Old NHL Veteran Retires From Hockey as a Whole

Darren Helm, a veteran player with more than 800 games and two Stanley Cup wins, has decided to retire from professional hockey.

The Detroit Red Wings drafted Helm as the 132nd pick in 2005, and he established himself as a valuable contributor in the bottom-six forward role throughout his NHL career.
At the age of 36, Helm officially announced his retirement today.
During his career, Helm recorded a total of 266 points in 823 NHL games, along with 26 points in 103 playoff games. Notably, he earned his first Stanley Cup as a rookie with the Red Wings in 2008 and secured his second and final Cup with the Avalanche in 2022.
Helm's retirement signifies the end of a remarkable journey, and his contributions to multiple championship teams will be remembered in the NHL.
