Newly announced Flyers interim general manager Danny Briere took a small shot at Chuck Fletcher during his first interview with the Flyers. Fletcher stated multiple times throughout his final weeks as general manager that he 'did not' want to use the term rebuild, but more so a 're-tooling' process.

Since the Flyers will be entering their rebuild phase, for the first time in franchise history says Elliotte Friedman, Dave Scott has stated it'll be a multi-year process. Veterans with 2-3 years left on their deals who don't fit the timeline of the rebuild will be on the trade block.
