Newly appointed interim GM Danny Briere held his first press conference with the Flyers media corps and gave a glimpse of what he would be doing if he was full-time GM for the Flyers.
After watching his presser he certainly has a firm hand on what he wants to do with this team and he feels that there is lots of work to be done and there would not need to be a complete firesale to get the Flyers back into contention again.
One statement that Flyers insider Jamey Baskow heard is that numerous senior advisors for the team may not be around for much longer.

Part of the old guard including Bobby Clark, Paul Holmgren, Dean Lombardi and bill Barber were mentioned as possibly on the way out. What Briere did say however is that Brent Flahr will remain with the team.
Briere spoke very highly of him especially when it comes to drafting. The Flyers have been drafting fairly well over the last few years with players such as Cutter Gauthier, Tyson Foerster and Cam York.
It's certainly going to be an interesting and possibly exciting time for the Flyers as it appears the team is willing to turn the page on its past and finally move the team where all the other NHL organizations are in the 21st century.
