It was only a matter of time, but it is now a done deal.

Claude Giroux will play for a new team for the first time in his career, as he was traded by Philadelphia to the Florida Panthers. Connor Bunnaman, German Rubtsov and a 5th round pick in 2024 are also going to Sunrise with Giroux. In return, the Flyers obtain forward Owen Tippett, a first round pick in 2024 and a 3rd round pick in 2023.
The Flyers also retains 50% of Claude Giroux salary.
Owen Tippett was selected 10th overall by the Florida Panthers during the 2017 NHL Draft. He already has 94 NHL games under the belt. Recently, he was in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers, registering 18 points in 12 games this year.
He is probably going to be recalled right away by the Flyers, and will play with the big club on Tuesday.
