Over the past several games, the beleaguered Flyers center, Morgan Frost, has come under scrutiny from management, coaching staff, and the fan base.

He has been benched for the last six games. After securing a two-year, $4.2 million contract extension late in the offseason, fans are left wondering what has happened to him and why he can't crack the lineup.
Head Coach John Tortorella has been emphasizing that Frost needs to inject pace and prowess into his game, as it seems he has become complacent in his style. An issue he did not face last year is that young players coming up from the Phantoms are now pushing for jobs and aiming to stay with the Flyers this season.
It was also noted that the team was winning at the time, and Tortorella did not want to upset the balance as the team ran its course through its winning streak.

With the Flyers losing to the San Jose Sharks, it's expected that Frost will enter the lineup on Monday against Carolina.
''Contrary to whispers of potential trades, an inside source from the Flyers organization, opting for anonymity, disclosed that the team has no intentions of parting ways with Frost. In fact, reports suggest that Frost's response to his recent benching has been commendable, showing resilience and maturity.''
Frost certainly needs to be given the chance to restore his game and work himself permanently back into the lineup. "We're really trying to push the pace. We're trying to be a pressure team. He's gotta bring us some offence. That's what he does. Make some plays," stated Tortorella.
If Frost does not seize the opportunity and establish himself as a Flyer who wishes to remain with the team long-term, then trade rumours will begin again, and this time someone will attempt to make a move.
