It had to happen at some point.

Last night, the Canadiens lost another game, this time against the New Jersey Devils 7-1. While the changes at the front office were made (Jeff Gorton was appointed VP of Hockey Operations and Kent Hughes General Manager), the futur of Dominique Ducharme was still undecided.
Well, Hughes and Gorton pulled the trigger by firing Ducharme today.
With Ducharme behind the bench this season, the Canadiens held an horrible record of 8-30-7, the worst in the league. Also, Ducharme leaves with the worst regular season record of the modern era of the team, with 23 wins, 46 losses and 14 losses in overtime.
Last year, he led his team to the Stanley Cup Final. What a bizarre turn of events...
