Danny Heatley began his NHL career with the Atlanta Thrashers before playing for Ottawa, San Jose, Minnesota, and Anaheim, and retiring in 2014-2015.

Since then, he has been out of the hockey world until recently receiving a scouting position offer from new Philadelphia Flyers GM, Danny Briere.
Heatley's career ended 12 years after the tragic accident that took the life of his teammate, Dan Snyder, in 2003.
Due to his departure, Heatley's name has been blacklisted in NHL circles, making it difficult to connect with any team until Briere reached out.

However, Heatley's experience as a former 50-goal scorer in the NHL could prove valuable in finding the right talent for the new Flyers team.
