On Friday night, John Carlson took a slap shot to the face from the blue line.
Carlson immediately dropped to the ice and came back up with a bloodied face.
Luckily it seems that the shot got him in the side of the face, which would avoid major structural damage, but there is most likely still a good amount of damage from taking that hard of a shot.

Today, the Capitals have released the following update on John Carlson's injury.
Carlson is a big piece of the Capitals defense, as they currently hold the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
