On January 28th the Philadelphia Flyers took on the Winnipeg Jets who have been struggling as of late, going just 5-5-0 in their last 10 and were currently on a 2-game losing skid. The game was a pretty even one as Winnipeg lead in the shot category 40-33, but the Flyers would come out on top with a 4-0 win.
This win is credited to no one other than Carter Hart who played lights out and carried his team to the win. Stopping all 40 shots the Jets threw at him, Hart became just the seventh goalie in Flyer's history to record a regular-season shutout with at least 40 saves. The last Flyer to do it was Brian Elliott back on January 19th in 2021.
With no surprise Carter Hart was named the first star of the game. If you are a Flyers fan you love to hear this as Hart will be an important piece for the Flyer's success in the future. Currently he has a record of 15-14-8 with a 2.88 GAA and a .911 SV% which is pretty solid for the below average season the Flyers are currently having. There's no doubt that Hart is the backbone to this team and will continue to try and steal games for the Flyers helping them place higher in the standings.
