The first season with head coach John Tortorella behind the Flyers bench is completed. When former general manager Chuck Fletcher brought in Tortorella, he felt he was the right man for the job to get this team back to respectability.

This season was a tough one. Tortorella put his teaching hat on and decided to show his roster on how the game should be played in his vision.
Recently, as many teams always do the players have had a locker cleanout day and meetings between management and coaching Sense where they belong on this roster and will be looked at next year for a job. Torts had group sessions with numerous players and he received an unexpected reception.

Torts is a coach that prefers to have players initiate the conversation rather than go to them. He certainly strikes me as a coach that has an open-door policy and that players can come in and discuss their game with him.
However, it's not customary that a player speaks up and speaks out to the coach during group sessions, this was the case.
The Flyers rebuilding phase will begin in full swing shortly as they will find out on May 8th where they stand in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes.
The coveted up-and-coming centre will improve any team he lands with. The Flyers are crossing their fingers that they will be the team to get him.
The Flyers currently sit 7th in the lottery with a 6.5% chance of landing a promising superstar.
