Flyers brass getting their axes ready for the off-season.
This past NHL season for the Flyers has revealed quite a bit in terms of how poorly this team was constructed by former general manager Chuck Fletcher and how devoid of star power in key areas.
As all rebuilding phases go, a team normally would evaluate all the players and personnel involved, see where they stand whether they fit the vision they have going forward or not.
Then the axe would fall during the offseason and the Flyers brass would start clearing the deadwood.
According to Charlie O'Connor, he asked Tortorella what he felt the state of the team was and if any players needed to go.

Having seen Tortorella and interim general manager Danny Briere sitting in the press box for numerous games at the end of this season certainly showed the fan base that they're trying to get on the same page which it appears they are and will begin the teardown of the roster.
This will be an intriguing summer for the Flyers as they embark on this rebuilding phase which will be the first time they've done this in their history.
Some rebuilds can be very successful and some rebuilds can be complete failures. It will all come down to the players they choose going forward in the drafts coming up in the next few seasons along with the development of these players.
There will also be many players coming in and out of the lineup especially veteran players that could be used as bargaining chips at the trade deadline to acquire more assets and draft picks.
It will be an interesting and exciting time for the Flyers and the fan base. This rebuilding phase was long overdue.
