For over 30 years of watching hockey, I've learned to become a goalie fan. The position always fascinated me because of the idea that a player is willing to stand there and get hit by pucks repeatedly over and over every game with some shots well over 100 miles an hour.
Time and time again, he has put on amazing performances and mouth-dropping saves that have given the Flyers either hope or a win. Sometimes though, he has made some gaffes that make you shake your head and some of the worst luck I've ever seen.
Tonight against the Lightning, the puck was dumped into the Flyers' zone and Hart decided to leave his net to play the puck. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell square on his butt. He managed to recover quickly, however, Alex Killoran snuck in behind the defence and scored top shelf.
The 24-year-old rising star has played 46 games and started 45 of them. He has 17 wins 19 losses and 10 overtime losses for the goals against 2.89 and a save percentage of .908. Those numbers do not reflect the quality of play this man has brought to this team, in my opinion, has been the MVP of the Flyers all season.
