Torts felt that he would rather his players focus on their next shift rather than look at iPads and see where they could improve their play during game time. IPads have become a popular item on NHL benches as players would like to review their play or see what the coaches are seeing.
Torts elaborated later on to why he did this, saying that it will help players understand when games are in momentum shifts and not focusing on technology only.
In my view, I do feel that the coaches should have access of course to their IPads to help see openings that can help however I do feel also the players should focus on the game that's in front of them and take their orders from their coaches. There is plenty of time during travel days and film days and practice to see what the technology catches.
