It involved his close teammate and iconic NHL goaltender, Grant Fuhr, and a potential million-dollar bonus hanging in the balance.
Both Pronger and Fuhr were playing for the St. Louis Blues at the time, and Pronger had a significant $1 million bonus riding on his plus-minus rating for the season. Pronger recounted the incident, saying,
