It's been a busy morning for the Flyers. They finally reached a deal with defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen, who signed a 5-year contract extension with the organization.

However, this news could mean that Travis Sanheim's future with the Flyers is in jeopardy, according to Darren Dreger.
"Some wondering if Risto extension opens the door to a Travis Sanheim trade either before the deadline or in the offseason. He would be pretty high on a few teams' target lists. Left shot, $4.675 cap hit through next season," said Dreger on Twitter.

Dreger isn't the only one to have mentioned this possibility, as Dennis Bernstein and David Pagnotta also talked about it. If a deal involving Sanheim was to be made, it's more probable that it'll occur during the NHL Draft in Montreal this summer.
Sanheim is without any doubt the best defenseman on the team since the start of the season. But with Ryan Ellis, Ivan Provorov and now Rasmus Ristolainen making more than 5 M$ each per season, Fletcher has to find some cap space. And trading Sanheim could give him that, even if it would be a mistake...
