What happened during the 2019 offseason?

As a reminder, the Flyers finished the 2018-19 campaign without an appearance in the playoffs. Chuck Fletcher arrived as the new GM of the team, and made several changes: Kevin Hayes was signed, Alain Vigneault was hired as the new head coach, Matt Niskanen was brought in for Radko Gudas and Justin Braun was acquired for draft picks.
They finished the 2019-20 as the first seed in the East (in the Bubble) and reached the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. But pretty much everything fell apart after.
The thing is that there will be a lot more to achieve this summer to come back to that 2019-20 form. The Flyers don't have any offensive star, which was the case back then. The bottom pair in defense will need better players. There's still a lot of uncertainty regarding Ryan Ellis. Will Ivan Provorov and Travis Konecny still be members of the Flyers next year?

Once again, Fletcher said what he wanted to do this summer, but it still seems pretty unclear. What if Ellis doesn't come back in October?
In 2019, he pretty much was in a "win now" mode. Will it be the case again this summer?
