Claude Giroux addressed the media today for the first time since being traded to the Panthers. Obviously, he repeated multiple times that he was excited to be a Panther and hopes to win a Stanley Cup there.

"That's the reason I'm here. I'm here to win. I'm here to help the team win. That's the reason this trade happened. I think this team has a chance to go far in the playoffs. I think I can help this team. It's time to go to work," said Giroux.

Also, the former Flyers captain told the reporters that it was (very) tough to leave Philadelphia.
"I knew it was going to be hard [to leave], but I didn't think it'd be that emotional. It was tough," said Claude Giroux.

He also had a message for Flyers' fans.
"The last 4 days, the fans have been unbelievable. Everywhere I went, they had so many nice things to say. It's def. not an easy place to play in, but they're passionate, they're intense, they're nuts. That's the kind of fans you want to play for," said Giroux.

Giroux is probably going to make his debut with the Panthers on Thursday in Montreal against the Canadiens.
