The San Jose Sharks had another disappointing season missing the playoffs yet again.
This was caused some big changes to the Sharks causing long-time Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson to step down and former Sharks forward Mike Grier was hired as his replacement.
There are still so many unanswered questions heading into the season for the San Jose Sharks, but maybe the biggest what will the new GM do with star forward
Timo Meier?
The 25 year old forward is entering the final season of a deal that pays him $6 million and a pending restricted free agent looking to make a significant raise.

The Sharks simply cannot afford to mess this up by not getting a good return if they trade Meier instead of re-signing him long term.
Meier himself says that there have been no discussions about a contract extension this offseason.
«There hasn't been any conversation about that," Meier said during the NHL's European Media Tour this week. "I haven't really thought too much about it, to be honest. I know my contract is up in a year, but I'm trying to focus on getting ready for the season and getting ready physically, doing my work during the off-season and having a good start into the season. So that's kind of my only focus right now since the other stuff hasn't been brought up and I'm not a guy that likes to think too much about that stuff.»
