The Philadelphia Flyers will be without star center Sean Couturier for the remainder of the season.

On Dec. 30, he was placed on LTIR with an upper-body injury. Today, news surfaced that Couturier underwent successful upper back surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital by doctor Jon Yoon. He will miss the remainder of the season
The 29-year-old played 29 games this year with 6 goals and 11 assists, good for 17 points.
The team now has Kevin Hayes, Joel Farabee, Nate Thompson, Patrick Brown and Samuel Morin on IR. Sean Couturier and Ryan Ellis are on LTIR. Ellis may also not return this season. Couturier is expected to recover within 3 months.
Last summer, Couturier signed an 8-year, $66 million extension with the team. This means he's signed until the 2029-2030 season with an AAV of 7,750,000. He also holds a no-trade clause. Let's hope to see him back and playing like his usual self next October.
