Among those impacted by Jeanneret, who was considered by many to be the voice of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, was Flyers GM Danny Briere.
Before joining the Philadelphia Flyers, Briere spent four years with the Buffalo Sabres. Jeanneret had a profound effect on the games he played and the time he spent in Buffalo, he said in an emotional statement today.
In 2012 Jeanneret was awarded the Foster Hewitt award, one of the most prestigious awards given to hockey broadcasters.
We mourn Jeanneret's loss and celebrate his contributions to the game of hockey. Rest in piece RJ.
