Don Cherry Publicly Calls Out Auston Matthews
Last week the Philadelphia Flyers faced off against the Toronto Maple Leafs for a hockey night in Canada matchup and things sure got heated, Flyers agitator forward Travis Konecny and the Leafs star Auston Matthews went at it during the final seconds of the game.
Matthews taunted on Konecny with multiple hacks and whacks but shied away from a fight whenever Konecny felt it was the right time to drop the mitts.
Matthews sat back and smiled as he awaited his teams assistance, 39 year old Mark Giordano came to the rescue, and a second time Matthews refused to drop the gloves, but still exchanged slashes, he smiled even more and waited for another teammate to come to his rescue. View the video below.

Don Cherry, who used to be on Hockey Night in Canada is one man with very strong opinions, and of course he had to comment on the Matthews/Konecny situation..
''I like Matthews, he's a good goal scorer and everything but you just can't do that when you're a goal scorer,'' said Cherry.
"He's gotta learn, just skate away," said Cherry regarding Matthews. "Don't stand there laughing while some other guy is fighting your battle for you."
Cherry compared it to the legend himself Guy Lafleur:
''You have to take it like Lafleur," said Cherry. "The only time Lafleur ever got mad was when him and Mike Milbury used to go at it.''
''Don't start anything and just leave it alone and when the fight is going on don't stand there and laugh,'' said Cherry's last words.
