One Player Has Already Proved He Doesn't Work in John Tortorella's Lineup

As seen above, Torts is doing what he does best, and is doing something Flyers fans have not seen from former coaches such as Alain Vigneault, Dave Hasktol and others, being vocal. That is it, just being vocal, it is amazing to see Torts vocalize his opinions after each and every play to the referees and his players, while prior, Dave Hasktol would sit there with his hands in his pockets on mute mode.

With Torts' vocal coaching style, he sure is not afraid to bench a player for a entire game if he notices they are not performing properly or they are not giving there full 110% effort.

Effort, hustle and aggressiveness is something Tortorella plays by each and every night, and some players may not fit in that style of play, or they may not live up to Torts' expectations. The most recent player to not be sat, but to be healthy scratched and welcomed to a seat in the press box for the entire game is defensemen Rasmus Ristolainen.

Risto has played four games this season and has a plus minus rating of negative four (-4), the teams second worst rating with half the amount of games played as others.

With Risto scratched for the entire Flyers vs Senators game, the Flyers put on a dominating performance in most categories and played defensively amazing.

Would Chuck Fletcher have traded for Risto if John Tortorella was already the coach, is the $5.1 million per year for the next six years going to crap the bed when Risto is benched each game? Time will only tell, but with Ristos' amazing physical presence fans can only hope he finds his game in other aspects.
