Expectations are high for York in Philadelphia as he was drafted ahead of Cole Caufield, Alex Newhook and many other NHL players who are already developed in the NHL, while York has done the opposite, and has spent the last few seasons tearing it up with the Flyers affiliate, the Leigh Valley Phantoms. York was cut from the Flyers roster this season, Tortorella said York is in need to ''find himself, and find what his purpose is'', and encourages him to do so in the AHL.
So far this season Cam York is currently nine games deep with the Phantoms lineup and has tallied up two goals and four assist throughout those nine games, which is quite impressive for a defensemen.
One out of his two goals was scored in fashion. In Laval Quebec, York blasted home the overtime game winning goal, and proceeded to waive goodbye to the fans, after York waived he immediately skated directly to the locker room, usually players at least go say thanks to their goaltender and do a team hug- but York pulled the classic ''pack er' up'' celebration, check it out below.
