Flyers twitter reporter Flyers Puck Sauce has reported last night that the Philadelphia Flyers do not prefer Owen Tippett in a potential Claude Giroux trade with the Florida Panthers.

Instead, the Flyers want Denisenko, Samoskevich and a second rounder. Chuck Fletcher and his team must've seen the Brandon Hagel and Ben Chiarot trades and realized they can ask for more. Giroux is arguably the only huge game changer this deadline and moving him for a grade B prospect like Tippett is not the best move.
"I am hearing that the Flyers want Denisenko and Samoskevich and a 2nd.Panthers would rather Tippett and Samoskevich. Flyers are lukewarm at best on Tippett.Who blinks first?"

As we know, the Colorado Avalanche is speculated to have offered a 2023 first rounder plus asset Justin Barron, another first round selection for Giroux. Given these circumstances, Fletcher can and should be doing much better than Tippett plus Samoskevich.
There is an issue though. In last night's game against the Anaheim Ducks, star defenceman Aaron Ekblad left the game after colliding with teammate Aleksander Barkov and was in visible pain. He could not put any weight on his right leg, meaning it was a substantial injury. Ekblad suffered a leg injury last year which kept him out of the playoffs. Just awful luck and timing. Although they have Chiarot, you have to wonder what this means for Florida's plans moving forwards. Could Colorado sweep in?
Florida reporter George Richards has reported however that the injury is not as significant as first feared.
"Coach Andrew Brunette says Aaron Ekblad will be out for the short term."

Chuck Fletcher has until Monday Mar. 21 3pm E.T to play his cards right. There's no rush, only pressure to get the most out of this opportunity. Like everyone else, we wait and see.
