Kevin Hayes was a regular player in the Philadelphia Flyers lineup until John Tortorella took over as head coach. Under Tortorella's leadership, the team underwent a change in philosophy, for better or worse.
This led to Danny Briere taking over and initiating a rebuild of the team, which resulted in many current Flyers players being put on the trade block.
Among them was Kevin Hayes, who initially expressed a desire to remain in Philadelphia, but eventually felt like Tortorella had singled him out.

This week, Hayes was traded to the St. Louis Blues for a 6th round pick, and he is excited to start fresh in the new system.
Although he was a consistent 50 point player, it is sad to see someone like Hayes leave.
