According to Flyers insider Anthony Di Marco, it seems as though the top 5 for the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal is gearing up for another shakeup.

First, TSN rated Juraj Slafkovsky ahead of Shane Wright for first overall and now rumours are swirling that both David Jiricek and Simon Nemec will be taken in the top 4.
If this is true, one of Cooley or Wright is surely going to drop into the Flyers laps. This news is further emphasized by Correy Pronman of The Athletic who in his mock draft had the Devils taking David Jiricek at second overall.

And despite having the Flyers taking Cutter Gauthier 5th, it is a real possibility that Wright and Cooley drop significantly. Pronman has Slafkovsky, Jiricek, Cooley, Wright and Gauthier as his top 5. However, with the Kraken drafting high octane center Matthew Beniers just last season, it's hard to see them go for a lackluster Wright instead of a steady tall right-handed defenceman in Simon Nemec.
Lastly, Pronman has the Flyers taking Jack Sparkes, right-handed defenseman, St. Michaels (OJHL) 69th overall. It would therefore make no sense for them to draft a defenceman in Nemec or Jiricek at 5.
There have also been numerous rumours of the Habs potentially going for Cooley instead of Slafkovsky and Wright.
The one thing we can be sure of at this year's draft is that nothing is certain. The League's on fire and that's why we love it.
