As the Flyers' rebuilding phase continues to shape the roster, one position that has not recently come into question in terms of skill set is their goaltending. With Carter Hart currently holding the number one position, his abilities as a goaltender and cornerstone for the franchise over the past number of years have been abundantly clear to both players and the coaching staff.

Recently, the Flyers secured the future of their goaltending by signing Aleksei Kolosov to a three-year entry-level contract.
Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 185 pounds, the 21-year-old tender was drafted in the third round, 78th overall, in the 2021 entry draft. The importance of having goalie depth cannot be overstated for any NHL team. In addition to Hart, the Flyers have Samuel Ersson, Felix Sandstrom, and now Kolosov.

According to eliteprospects.com, Kolosov possesses a smooth and fluid skating ability, allowing him to move laterally from side to side with ease.
If the Flyers believe that their goaltending depth is poised to take the next step and produce NHL starters, there is a possibility that they may consider trading Carter Hart to acquire more assets and draft picks.
As of now, the 25-year-old goalie has yet to agree to a contract extension, leading to conflicting reports regarding his desire to either remain with the team or move on to another.
Only time will reveal the outcome of this potential move.
