Basically, Chuck Fletcher will have his back to the wall this summer. With the extension of Rasmus Ristolainen, the Flyers now have 5 players that will take $31M on the salary cap for the next three years.
It's way too much...
And when you look at the situation this summer, Fletcher is going to have a hard time to sign an important player during free agency. They'll have $7.1M of cap space this summer to fill 6 spots, including Claude Giroux...

Fletcher said multiple times that he wanted to make a quick reset as the objective is to make the playoffs next year. But to make changes, you gotta have some flexibility, which is something they will not have until proven otherwise.
The Flyers will be almost forced to trade one of Ivan Provorov or Travis Sanheim. The organization will have $22.6M tied up on four defenseman next year.
The latter seems to be the "favourite" to be dealt. In either case, they will bring back something that the Flyers don't have : a top line player, which is good news.
