What if the Rangers were the front runners in the Claude Giroux sweepstakes? It's clearly a possibility. Don't forget that the Rangers have a LOT (31M$) of free cap space...

In that case, the Flyers would look at three Rangers prospects: Forward Brennan Othmann and defensemen Zachary Jones and Nils Lundkvist.
Othmann was the Rangers' first round pick (16th overall) last year. He has 75 points in 51 games this season with the Flint Firebirds in the OHL. Here's how the left winger's style of play was described by Elite Prospects on their website:
"Othmann loves nothing more than to collect the puck on the breakout, lead the charge into the offensive zone, and turn the corner on opposing defenders. He always attacks at full speed, playing a high-pace style, and pressuring with that same level of intensity. He pressures on the forecheck, plays the body, and takes good routes to cut off the opposition's attempts at a breakout."

In the case of Zachary Jones, he already played games with the Rangers this season, collecting 2 assists in 11 games. However, he spent the majority of the campaign in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack. He has 19 points in 30 games.
Same for Nils Lundkvist (Rangers' first round pick in 2018), but he has even more NHL experience. He was pretty good in his stint with the Rangers this year. We know that Fletcher wants to make a quick rebuild so it'll make more sense if he acquire prospects who are ready for the NHL, or at least close to be.
And as opposed to Jones, Lundkvist is right handed and it's something the Flyers want.
