There's a subtle but very important detail in the new contract of Ristolainen

Fletcher did a pretty good job at resigning Ristolainen for $5.1M per year. A lot of us were worried that it could go up north of $6M, so at least it's a good news.

But there's something even better in that contract : Ristolainen doesn't have a No-Movement Clause. Not even a partial one. It means that Fletcher could pretty well trade him whenever he wants, and that gives him a little more leverage for the future.
Flyers fans still have one thing to hope for : that this contract don't come back to bite the team. Yes, the average is pretty decent, but Philly will have 7 players with a cap hit of more than $5M next year. And not one of them could be considered as "elite" players. It's too much.
The next weeks are going to be very interesting...
