The NHL career of defenseman Victor Mete has not unfolded as he had hoped. After being drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2016 as the fourth-round, hundredth pick overall, the Woodbridge, ON native has played for three different Canadian teams during his career.
After spending four seasons with the Canadiens, he subsequently spent time with the Ottawa Senators and, most recently, with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
This season, he decided to head south and signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers, a contract worth $775,000. He is currently playing for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. This major change not only marks his transition to an American city but also coincides with a significant life announcement made today.
His wife, Courtney, shared a picture revealing her pregnancy to the world.
