Over the past Four Seasons, Flyers defenseman Igor Zamula has been working hard at trying to become a Flyers regular on the blue line. His first three seasons have not proven well but this year things have changed in his favor.
In the first period of yesterday's game against the Ottawa Senators, Zamula received one of the strangest but easiest goals in his career.
After hitting the net, it seemed the players on the ice did not know where the puck went, but it landed right in front of Zamula's stick in which he threw it into an open net.

This is the year that he needs to make more of an impact as it's highly likely the Flyers will be selling off a couple of their defencemen at the trade deadline.
Sean Walker and
Nick Seeler have been linked to many trade rumors across the NHL and with the Flyers still in a full rebuild and assets to give players like the moolah will get increased ice time and potentially a permanent spot on the roster.
Tonight's game was one that will be remembered for Zamula as he went on to score two goals and one assist for three points.
In the past 38 games, he had scored five goals with 10 assists for 15 points and is a + 10. Those kinds of numbers will guarantee him a spot as his defence first attitude is exactly what head coach John Tortorella loves.
It remains to be seen on how the Flyers management will manage his contract as he is on his final year of his deal where he holds arbitration rights as a restricted free agent next year.
