Flyers Young Star leading NHL in Surprising Category
The NHL is littered with amazing talent. You can seriously make the case that out of 32 teams, 28-29 of them have Bonafide superstars that any team would love to have playing for them. When you are solely talking about individual talent, you can't take a team's record into account. Look at the Blackhawks record. Would you take Connor Beddard? Anaheim Ducks, at the bottom of the league, have Adam Henrique and Trevor Zargas.
An interesting statistic that has made its way around is points at 5 on 5. Players tend to pile points up with the man advantage, but who can get it done 5 on 5 are where some of the elite in the league run. Not Surprisingly Nathon MacKinnon and Nikita Kucherov are 1 and 2 in the league with 41 and 33 points respectively. Who do you think is next? The 23-year-old former 14th overall pick in the 2018 NHL draft has been improving each year with the Flyers. He has already tied his career high in points this year with 39 and we are only 47 games into the season. He is also a +11 rating which is by far the best in his career thus far. This has been labeled a breakout year for the Flyers young forward, and he is meeting/exceeding all expectations, just like the rest of his team! He is an important part to the Flyers young core, a core they hope to keep together and growing into the prime of their careers together.
