Flyers Fans Ecstatic After Matvei Michkov Performance During KHL Preseason

Matvei Michkov, one of the hottest and most sought after prospects in the Draft. Yet, he was passed on and fell to No. 7 to the Philadelphia Flyers. Which was an easy choice for GM Danny Briere and co.

A month or so has passed since the NHL Draft and Matvei Michkov, has not changed anything about his game and still continues to impress.

On Thursday morning, Saint Petersburg played against Admiral in both teams first preseason bout.

The game was nothing short of exciting, it would end up reaching overtime and Admiral would prevail. However, Matvei Michkov, did make it interesting. In just the first 20 minutes of the game he put up 2 points (1 goal and 1 assist).

Hitting the latter stages of the game Michkov, would be held off the score sheet but was still impactful � watching him skate and his ability to turn on a dime is remarkable.

Then came overtime, which did not go St. Petersburg's way but the game did end in a fun shootout between both teams.

In one of the shootout attempts for St Petersburg, 2022 KHL Rookie of the Year, Arseny Gritsyuk, would be robbed by 2023 Goalie of the Year, Nikita Serebryakov.

After 4 attempts from both teams and one scoring, it was Matvei Michkov's turn and instead of explaining what happened, I'll let the video do the talking.

After Matvei Michkov's performance, Flyers fans are already buzzing even more about the 18-year-old.

Safe to say fans are extremely happy with the draft pick and can't get enough of Matvei Michkov!
