The Philadelphia Flyers were optimistic about Rasmus Ristolainen's return to the ice after his preseason "body injury." However, the latest update from Head Coach John Tortorella paints a less rosy picture. The Finnish defenseman, who was on the cusp of a comeback, has experienced a setback, and there's no concrete timeline for his return, as per Kevin Kurtz of the Athletic.

For Flyers fans, this news might ring alarm bells, as they've seen their fair share of injuries that started as day-to-day situations and ended up sidelining players for more extended periods.
Ristolainen, a 28-year-old right-handed defenseman known for his physical play and offensive contributions, was shaping up well last season. He entered the Christmas break on a high note, riding a three-game point streak and accumulating seven points in his last ten games.
Ristolainen had a unique experience over the summer, spending eight weeks in military service due to Finland's mandatory requirements for males up to the age of 29. This stint disrupted his usual offseason training.
