The Pittsburgh Penguins' new season had several question marks, starting with the new president and general manager, Kyle Dubas. After his weird departure from the Toronto Maple Leafs, Dubas decided to take over the entire Pittsburgh organization and made one major trade, bringing in Erik Karlsson from the San Jose Sharks in the hope of keeping their "win now" mode going.

So far, this season has not gone according to plan. The team is currently 2-3-0 through five games. This slow start has Penguins star forward Evgeni Malkin losing his patience and losing it with his teammates. After losing 6-3 to the Red Wings and 4-2 to the Blues, Malkin expressed his anger with a reporter,
stating,
"Great teams are coming up on our schedule. We better start playing better, playing smarter, and playing harder. It's time to regroup. Tonight? No good. This game was just bad. I'm frustrated."
Despite losing three out of five games, Malkin has been red-hot, scoring four goals with four assists for eight points. Clearly, he is not the issue, and the Penguins will need to dig deep into their roster to figure out what the issues are if they have any intentions of making the playoffs this year.
