Flyers could hire Barry Trotz but not as head coach

The Philadelphia Flyers are clearly interested in Barry Trotz. Who wouldn't be?
He would be a great voice behind the bench and could bring the Flyers back into the playoffs. With an average Islanders squad, Trotz brung New York twice in the Eastern Conference Finals.
However, Trotz could very well end up in another role than head coach if he's hired by the Flyers.
"There is a theory as to whether or not Fletcher may be hesitant to bring in Trotz. As reported by Darren Dreger of TSN, it is believed that Trotz would like to eventually transition into a front office role. If this is the case, could Fletcher be (potentially) hiring his own replacement by bringing in Trotz? Whether or not this could steer Fletcher away from Trotz entirely is unclear, but one has to wonder if it could be playing a role behind the scenes," wrote Anthony Di Marco from the Fourth Period.
