The Philadelphia Flyers' long, arduous road trip is finally over as the team comes back to Philly after dropping last night's game in Edmonton 5-2 to the Oilers. Oilers star Connor McDavid dominated the Flyers as he racked up five total points as the Flyers end the road trip on a three-game losing streak.

Edmonton grabbed a lead first and never let it go as Connor McDavid shook Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim and netted in a goal with just under five to go in the first period.
The Oilers proceeded to take a 2-0 lead in the second as Zach Hyman scored his 22nd goal of the year, proving to be a dominant scoring combination next to McDavid.

The Flyers showed some signs of life in the second period as Travis Konecny scored his 18th goal of the season on a beautiful pass from Joel Farabee to cut the deficit to one.
Just shortly after, Marc Staal tied the game with his first goal as a Flyer as the orange and black seemed to have regained their footing with three minutes left in the second.
The Oilers opened it up in the third period as two goals by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, as well as a goal by Leon Draisaitl gave Edmonton a 5-2 advantage which they would not squander.
Connor McDavid showed why he's one of the NHL's best on Tuesday night as he was all over the ice. McDavid was accounted for in all of Edmonton's goals, scoring one and assisting on the other four. His first assist also gave him the milestone of 900 career points.
The Flyers are exteremely happy to see this road trip end as they went 1-2-2 on the five game road trip and they have now dropped five of their last six games. Injuries, illness and fatigue from travel have all played a factor during this skid and the team is looking forward to getting back to their home ice on Thursday, January 4 against Columbus.
