The Flyers organization has announced to the world that they have begun their rebuilding phase, they did it with a bang. Yesterday general manager Danny Briere pulled off a trade with two other teams, the LA Kings and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He decided to part ways with Ivan Provorov, a player that happened to be a longstanding member of the Flyers and managed to recoup six players through draft picks and roster players.
He landed a second first-round draft pick in this year's draft, which is superb because this is one of the deepest drafts in 20 years. The rumours continue to fly around that the Flyers are looking at possible deals with Carter Hart and Travis Konecny.
In my opinion, I feel the prices should be quite high because these are players you cannot move without explanation. They're also hard to find and they're trained and raid play Flyers hockey. What was also mentioned is that Cutter Gauthier, the upcoming star for the Flyers is considered untouchable.
That's a wise move by Mr. Briere as Cutter will become one of the Flyers' main offensive pieces shortly.
