Flyers prospect Olle Lycksell is a player that Flyers fans should get excited about. European amateur scout Alexander Appleyard has been singing his praises all post season long.

Lycksell, 22, was a former sixth round pick back in 2017. Eliteprospects.com have him as 5'11", 176 lbs. Lycksell is a crafty player who can adapt as a winger or center.

This year, playing in Sweden with the Växjö Lakers HC, Lycksell has put up 14 goals and 20 assists in 48 games. In a league where he's playing against grown and experienced men, the stats aren't too shabby.

What makes Appleyard and the Flyers so excited however, is his play in the SHL playoffs. There's such a thing as a playoff performer. Players who excel when everything is on the line and rise up to the occasion. In eight playoff games played this year Lycksell has two goals and four assists for six points in three playoff games.

Last year, GM Chuck Fletcher signed the young Swede to a two year $1,750,000 contract. He has since been loaned to VLH. He'll be a RFA at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
