It always brings a smile to my face when I hear an NHL legend describe how they feel towards a team that they love and played for throughout their career. Every time they put on the jersey and skate out onto their home ice you could see that they truly love being where they are and the fans embrace them.
This is the case for Flyers legend Mark Recchi. Recchi, had a fantastic career as it began in 1988 when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round, 67th overall. As his career spanned from 1988 through 2011, he worked for seven NHL organizations and put his effort 100% of the time no matter where he was.
The right winger was a point machine and after playing 1652 games, he scored 577 goals with 956 assists for 1533 points. Many of his best years were with the Flyers which gave the home crowd plenty to cheer for.
