Flyers want to extend this fan favorite

Every team needs a player who is not afraid to drop the mitts and defend his teammates. That's exactly what they have in Zack MacEwen.

Of course, the 25-year-old forward is not an offensive machine, but he is extremely valuable for the Flyers in his own way. He brings this big physical presence and he always give his all everytime he steps on the ice.

Thus, those are the reasons why Chuck Fletcher should bring him back next year. And according to Anthony Di Marco, the organization's plan is to extend MacEwen's contract.




MacEwen was first claimed off waivers by the Flyers at the beginning of this season. He'll be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the campaign. This year, the forward registered 6 points in 65 games, in addition to cumulating 96 penalty minutes.
