In some cases in the NHL, players find themselves unable to secure a spot on a team or sustain a long career in the league. Many opt to leave the league entirely and return to a more private life or join a beer league or lower-level league to continue playing.

However, other players transition into management and take up various roles within organizations they have previously played for. It's precisely the case for Sam Morin, drafted by the Flyers in 2013 as the 11th overall pick in the first round. With his skill set, a player of his calibre should have excelled in the NHL and become a leader for the team that drafted him.
Unfortunately, things did not work out as expected for Sam. On May 3rd, 2022, the former general manager, Chuck Fletcher, announced that Sam would be offered a position within the organization after sustaining catastrophic damage to his knee.
He now serves as a development coach for the Flyers and was recently spotted interacting with Mateo Mann, a seventh-round draft choice, during the Flyers' development camp.
Sam's NHL career was limited to 29 games between 2015 and 2021, during which he scored only one goal and had a minus-10 rating.
